We are excited to shine the spotlight on one of our outstanding alumni, Jack Pham, whose journey from PIHMS to the world of hospitality has been nothing short of inspiring.
Highlights whilst at PIHMS:
For Jack, PIHMS was a game-changer. It felt like a second home, providing him with an amazing international experience. During Jack’s time at PIHMS, he grew as a person, made friends from all over, and got his start in the hospitality industry.
Life after PIHMS:
Jack’s adventures after PIHMS took him to different parts of New Zealand. He began his career at Travelodge in Wellington, where he’d already completed an internship. Seeking new challenges, he headed to the South Island, working at Braemar Lodge & Spa as a Guest Service / Reservations Agent for a year. An opportunity arose at SkyCity, leading Jack to relocate to Auckland, where he’s been an integral part of the team since 2017.
SkyCity Hotel Group Journey:
Jack’s career at SkyCity Hotel Group is the high point of his professional journey.
Eager to get involved, Jack started as a Part-Time Guest Service Rep at the Grand by SkyCity, where he also worked as a Part Time Night Auditor. Jack’s hard work paid off, and within a year, he became a Duty Manager at SkyCity Hotel. After three successful years, Jack’s journey took a new turn when he joined the Reservation/Call Centre. This opportunity allowed Jack to upskill and refine his sales skills.
A year later, he earned a well-deserved promotion to Front Office Manager for The Grand by SkyCity.
Jack’s journey proves that dedication and passion can lead to incredible success in the hospitality industry. His journey from PIHMS to SkyCity Hotel Group is a testament to what can be achieved through hard work and a passion for the hospitality industry.
